Two cops face interdiction for soliciting bribe from man violating travel restrictions

Two Policemen have been interdicted for obtaining a bribe of Rs. 2,000 from an individual who was travelling violating travel restrictions at Norochcholai in Puttalam.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the Puttalam Division SP conducted an investigation following the incident.

He said while the policemen would be charged for the offence of taking bribe, they would also face deciplinary action.

DIG Rohana said tough action would be taken against them, if any policeman or officer found soliciting bribes especially during the travel restrictions period. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
