Tree planting on Valentine’s Day

While adding a new meaning to the Valentine's Day, the Environment Ministry has decided to introduce a tree planting programme under the theme 'A plant for love' on February 14.

This tree planting programme is jointly hosted by the Environment Ministry, Padukka Green University, the Sri Lanka University of Technology Campus and the Sri Lanka Development Foundation at 9.00 am.

Similar tree planting programmes for Valentine's Day was conducted even last year and arrangements were made to plant 50,000 Mee saplings on the day, the Ministry said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
