Suspended Prisons Chief Thushara Upuldeniya arrested

Colombo, June 9 (Daily Mirror) - Thushara Upuldeniya, the Commissioner General of Prisons, was ordered to be remanded till tomorrow (June 11) by Colombo Additional Magistrate Manjula Rathnayake.

Commissioner General of Prisons Thushara Upuldeniya was arrested yesterday by the Criminal Investigation Department in connection with ongoing investigations into the alleged unlawful use of the Presidential pardon to release certain inmates.

The Additional Magistrate ordered that the suspect be produced before the Chief Magistrate tomorrow.
