Suspect who brought hand grenade at private hospital arrested

A 26-year-old suspect from Uppuveli in Trincomalee had been arrested over the incident where a hand grenade was found at a private hospital in Narahenpita.

Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that investigation revealed that the suspect has brought the grenade to the hospital.

However, further investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the suspect had brought the grenade.

The Colombo Crimes Division and the Narahenpita Police launched an investigation after the hand grenade was recovered from a toilet on the first floor of the hospital.(DSB)
