Strangled male body found with blows to head in Homagama

Colombo, July 10 (Daily Mirror) - Homagama Police found a strangled body of a male with blows to the head, dumped in a shrub jungle off Katuwana Road this morning. 

Police, acting on a tip-off arrived at the scene and recovered the corpse of a man. The preliminary investigations have revealed that the victim had been assaulted on the head with a blunt weapon and strangled as well. 

The deceased has been identified as a 31-year-old resident of Jinthupitiya in Kotahena, the Police Media said. 

The remains are lying at the Homagama Hospital morgue while further inquiries are proceeding.
