SriLankan Airlines Chairman resigns; Acting Chairman appointed

Colombo, March 30 (Daily Mirror) - Sarath Ganegoda, Chairman of SriLankan Airlines and SriLankan Catering, has tendered his resignation from both Boards, effective March 31, 2026. 

The SriLankan Airlines said that, in the interim, A.K.D.D. Dimal Arandara will serve as the Acting Chairman of both institutions until a new Chairman is appointed by the Secretary to the Treasury. He will oversee the operations and governance of the two entities during the transition period.

Meanwhile, Rohan Goonetilleke, who served as a Director, has also resigned from the Boards of SriLankan Airlines and SriLankan Catering. The Board and Management expressed their appreciation for the contributions made by both Ganegoda and Goonetilleke during their tenure.

Following these resignations, the current Board of SriLankan Airlines comprises A.K.D.D. Dimal Arandara as Acting Chairman and Treasury Representative, alongside Flt./Lt. (retd.) Sugath Rajapakse, Vipula Gunatilleka, Dr. Harsha Cabral, PC, Dumith Fernando, and Senarath Liyanage.

Similarly, the Board of SriLankan Catering now includes A.K.D.D. Dimal Arandara as Acting Chairman and Treasury Representative, together with Flt./Lt. (retd.) Sugath Rajapakse, Vipula Gunatilleka, Dr. Harsha Cabral, PC, and Dumith Fernando.
