Sri Lanka wins two Bronze medals

May.17 (Mirror Sports) - Sri Lankan school boxers Amodhya Jayarathna and Himaya Hettiarachchi secured two bronze medals at the Asian Under-15 and Under-17 Boxing Championship 2026, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The championship was conducted under the supervision of the Boxing Association of Asia. Amodhya Jayarathna of Viharamahadevi Girls’ School, Kandy, won her bronze medal in the 30–33kg weight category, while Himaya Hettiarachchi of Hemamali.

Girls’ School, Kandy, claimed bronze in the 49kg weight division. According to the overall medal standings of the tournament, Sri Lanka finished in ninth place.
