Apr.30 (Mirror Sports) - Sri Lanka head into the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 in strong form after sealing an unassailable 2–0 lead in their T20I series against Bangladesh women's national cricket team.

Fresh off a 2–1 ODI series win, they carried that momentum into the shortest format. In the opener, fifties from Imesha Dulani (55) and Harshitha Samarawickrama (61) powered Sri Lanka to 161, before the bowlers restricted Bangladesh to 136 to seal a 25-run victory.

The second T20I followed a similar script. Chamari Athapaththu (42) and Samarawickrama (49) guided Sri Lanka to 154, while Kavisha Dilhari starred with 2 for 15 to limit Bangladesh to 133 and secure a 21-run win.

With the series already wrapped up, Sri Lanka will use the final match to fine-tune combinations ahead of their tournament opener against hosts England women's national cricket team on June 12.

Bangladesh, meanwhile, are left searching for answers after back-to-back defeats. They will look to regroup quickly, with a tri-series against Scotland women's national cricket team and Netherlands women's national cricket team offering a final tune-up before their World Cup campaign begins on June 14.
