Sri Lanka appoints representative to Palestine equivalent to ambassador

Colombo, May 4 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka has appointed M. Fauser as Sri Lanka’s representative to Palestine, equivalent in status to an ambassador, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath has made the appointment.

A cordial discussion was held between Minister Herath and M. Fauser this afternoon following the appointment.

Fauser said that Sri Lanka has always been a close friend of Palestine and expressed his hope to serve in Palestine in line with the policy and position of the Sri Lankan government.

Fauser had previously served as the Secretary of the Palestine Solidarity Committee of Sri Lanka.
