Nov29, (Daily Mirror-Mirror Sports) - Saudi Cricket and FairBreak have announced a five-year partnership to launch the Women’s World T20 Challenge in Saudi Arabia from 2026. The tournament will be the first professional women’s cricket event in the kingdom, featuring players from over 35 countries.
The league aims to develop women’s cricket through structured training programs, international collaboration, and talent pathways, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030. Previous FairBreak events have seen international stars like Chamari Athapaththu (SL), Sophie Ecclestone, Laura Wolvaardt, and Marizanne Kapp shine on the global stage.
While the inclusion of Indian players remains uncertain due to NOC issues, Sri Lanka’s stars are expected to play a major role, continuing their impact from past FairBreak tournaments. Saudi Arabia, which hosted the IPL auction in Jeddah in 2024, is set to strengthen its presence on the cricket map with this new T20 league.
