Speeding jeep knocks pedestrian to death in Piliyandala

A 52-year old man had died when he was hit by a luxury jeep driven by a woman at Bokundara in Piliyandala this morning, the Police said.

The jeep was traveling from Piliyandala to Colombo when it crashed into a nearby concrete wall of a workshop and hit the man who was walking on the road.

The deceased is a resident of Werahera, Boralesgamuwa.

Traffic flow from Piliyandala to Colombo was also severely disrupted due to the accident

The 53-year-old woman from Nugegoda who drove the jeep was arrested and is to be produced before the Kesbewa Magistrate's Court today. (DSB)
