Special traffic plan in Colombo for Independence Day rehearsals

Colombo, Jan 27 (Daily Mirror) - The Colombo Traffic Division said today that a special traffic plan will be implemented in Colombo from January 29 to February 2, between 6:00 AM and 12:00 noon, in connection with rehearsals for the 77th National Independence Day celebrations.  

Several roads in the area will be temporarily closed during the rehearsal period:  

• - Vidya Mawatha entrance from Wijerama Mawatha in Cinnamon Gardens.  
• - Bauddaloka Mawatha towards Maitland Place
• - Bauddaloka Mawatha entrance towards Prema Keerthi De Alvis Mawatha  
• - Stanley Wijesundara Mawatha entrance towards Foundation Road  
• - Independence Roundabout entrance towards Independence Square  
• - Horton Place Maitland Crescent entrance towards Independence Roundabout
• - RG Senanayake Mawatha along Maitland Crescent towards Independence Roundabout  
• - Maitland Crescent entrance from Independence Roundabout  

Police said that while these roads will be closed during rehearsals, arrangements will be made to allow vehicles accessing government and private institutions in the area to pass without disrupting the rehearsals.
