Colombo, June 14 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat the West Indies by 37 runs in the second T20 International, leveling the two-match series 1-1.
After winning the toss, West Indies captain Shai Hope elected to field first, inviting the hosts to set a target. Sri Lanka made full use of the opportunity, posting an impressive 194 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs.
Kamil Mishara led the batting effort with a composed 60, while Dasun Shanaka provided late fireworks with a blistering 58 off just 24 deliveries. For the visitors, Shamar Joseph was the standout bowler with three wickets, while Matthew Forde claimed two scalps.
In reply, the West Indies struggled to maintain the required scoring rate and were eventually bowled out for 157 in 18.1 overs. Rovman Powell top-scored with 43 runs, while Shimron Hetmyer added 36, but their efforts were not enough to challenge Sri Lanka’s total.
Sri Lanka’s bowling attack proved decisive, with Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga sharing six wickets between them, taking three apiece to dismantle the Caribbean batting lineup.
