STF seizes heroin worth over Rs. 10Mn, foreign-made pistol in Matugama

The Special Task Force of Police (STF) recovered over 1 kg of heroin which has a street value of more than Rs. 10 million and a foreign-made micro pistol from an incomplete two-story house at Yatadolawatta in Matugama.

The STF said 50g of ICE and 1 electronic measuring scale were also seized during the raid.

An STF team led by CI Sampath Kumara of the Special Operations Group conducted the raid based on a tip off under the directions of STF Commandant DIG Waruna Jayasundara and ASP Arana Katugampola.

The seized drugs and pistol were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.(DSB)
