Feb.06 (Mirror Sports) – Teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi produced a breathtaking 175 off just 80 balls as India stormed to a record sixth ICC Under-19 World Cup title with a commanding 100-run victory over England in the final.

The 14-year-old prodigy delivered a fearless display of power hitting, smashing 15 fours and 15 sixes in a sensational match-winning knock that dismantled England’s bowling attack.

Suryavanshi accelerated dramatically after reaching his half-century, blasting 151 runs off his final 56 deliveries before being caught behind off Manny Lumsden with India cruising at 251 for 3.

India went on to post a massive 411 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs — one of the highest totals recorded in an Under-19 World Cup final.

England mounted a spirited reply, with opener Ben Dawkins scoring 66 while Caleb Falconer led a counter-attack with an aggressive 115 off 67 balls to keep the chase alive.

However, England’s resistance ended when Falconer became the last wicket to fall with the score on 311 in 40.2 overs, sealing India’s emphatic triumph.

Suryavanshi was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament after amassing 439 runs in seven innings at an average of 62.71.

The left-handed opener continues his rapid rise in world cricket, having already made headlines as the youngest IPL centurion and one of the fastest century-makers in youth international cricket.

India’s dominant victory further reinforced their supremacy at junior level, extending their legacy as the most successful nation in Under-19 World Cup history.
