Public and devotees urged to be on alert

Devotees and the public, including church-appointed search committees, are urged to be on the lookout for activities related to extremism, violence or terror and to report any such activities to law enforcement authorities immediately, the Ministry of Defence said.

The Ministry has issued special instructions to the Chief of Defense Staff and the Commanders of the three Armed Forces to continue their vigilance during this period and to further strengthen the security arrangements in the country.

The security forces are still on high alert and have instructed the three forces to deploy all security arrangements in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Police.

The Ministry of Defense urges churches and devotees to follow proper health guidelines during services and other activities conducted by devotees and churches on Easter Sunday.(DSB)
