Former Foreign Secretary and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dr. Palitha Kohona has been named as the Ambassador-designate to China.

The Foreign Ministry has referred the nomination of Dr. Palitha Kohona to the Parliamentary High Post Committee for its clearance.
