Over 3,500 arrested during three-hour island-wide operation

A total of 3,520 persons have been arrested, in connection with possession of narcotics and drunk driving, during a special three-hour island-wide operation, Police said.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that several wanted persons over various crimes were also arrested.

About 20,000 police officers were deployed in the operations which were conducted at 11 p.m on Saturday to 2a.m early this morning
