Opposition condemns use of lion flag on rugs and slippers

The main opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) today condemned the use of lion flag for rugs and slippers by a foreign company and urged the government to express its displeasure to the relevant country through diplomatic channels.

SJB MP Gayantha Karunatilleka told a press conference that his party is fully opposed to this and fully condemn this move to use Sri Lanka’s national flag for rugs and slippers.

“We urge the government to take immediate steps to condemn this move and inform its displeasure to the relevant country through diplomatic channels. Our party will also express displeasure on its own,” Mr. Karunatilleka said.(Yohan Perera)
