Nine fall prey to COVID-19: Toll soars to 696

The COVID-19 death toll in the country reached to 696 with nine more COVID-19 patients succumbing to the virus today, the Government Information Department said.

Accordingly, a 94-year-old male from Kebithigollewa, a 51-year-old male from Polonnaruwa, a 72-year-old male from Lewla, a 79-year-old female from Thannakubura, an 86-year-old female from Mattegoda, an 87-year-old male from Malabe, a 56-year-old male from Kantale, a 53-year-old male from Warakamura, and a 78-year-old male from Bandaragama died of the virus.
