New acting Atamasthanadhipathi appointed

The Atamasthana Committee has decided to temporarily appoint the Chief Sanghanayaka of the North Central Province and Chief Incumbent of the Ruwanwelisaya Maha Seya, Most Venerable Ethalawetunuwewe Gnanathilaka Thero, to carry out the duties of the Atamasthanadhipathi, the Malwathu Maha Viharaya announced.

According to a statement issued by the Malwathu Chapter, the temporary appointment will remain in force until ongoing court proceedings relating to allegations against the Chief Sanghanayaka of Nuwara Kalaviya, Most Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Nayake Thero, are concluded and a final decision is reached.

The statement was issued under the signature of the Registrar of the Malwathu Chapter, Most Venerable Dr. Pahamune Sumangala Nayaka Thero.
