Colombo, May 23 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP D.V. Chanaka said the National People’s Power (NPP) was secretly approaching members elected from the SLPP to seek their support to form councils.
The MP told Parliament that they have CCTV footage of the NPP seeking the support of the SLPP members and threatening to publish news of misdeeds shortly.
"Those days the NPP claimed that there are looters in independent groups and old thieves had come from independent groups. They said thieves have contested from the SLPP. They now reach out to our members secretly. They use a new tactic. They do not use mobile phones fearing of being recorded but visit their homes. We warn them there are CCTV cameras at homes too," he said.
He said those who had been termed as thieves those days are good for them now when the NPP is in trouble to form councils.
