Motorcyclist run over by MP’s vehicle, dies

A man who was hospitalized after a vehicle belonging to State Minister Sanath Nishantha crashed into him, died while undergoing treatment at the hospital yesterday, hospital sources said.

The victim was admitted to the Kurunegala Hospital after the accident which occurred in the Puttalam area on October 15.

MP Sanath Nishantha was onboard the vehicle when the driver crashed into the cyclist, fatally injuring the motorcyclist.

According to the Police, the driver of the MP was arrested and released on bail. The body of the victim was released from the hospital this morning. (Pathma Kumari)
