Minor flood in Galle district

Minor flood level has been reported in several areas in Galle district due to heavy showers receiving at the area from this evening.

It was reported that the Karapitiya to Galle main road from Beligaha and Galagediya area has been flooded as a result.

Accordingly several roads and low level lands in Moragoda, Dangedara and Kahaduwa Watte had also been flooded due to the heavy showers receiving at the area.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Disaster Management Centre Deputy Director Pradeep Kodippili said that several roads and by roads in the Galle district had been flooded due to heavy showers.

Meanwhile, due to heavy showers Kandy - Akurana Road were also had been flooded. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)
