Minister admits presence of mafia earning high profits from imported salt

Colombo, June 6 (Daily Mirror) - While admitting that there is a mafia by traders to earn maximum profits out of the current salt shortage, Minister of Trade and Food Security Wasantha Samarasinghe assured that action will be taken against such traders. 

"A packet of imported salt is sold at a price range from Rs. 120 to Rs. 250 in the market today despite the real average price being Rs. 77," the Minister said.
