Colombo, May 11 (Daily Mirror) - Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa is scheduled to leave for the Maldives on May 12 to participate in the 21st Asia Media Summit, one of the region’s leading gatherings focused on media, broadcasting, and digital communication. The summit officially commenced on May 11 at the Villa Nautica resort in the Maldives and will continue until May 14.
The event has brought together policymakers, media executives, journalists, researchers, and communication experts from across Asia to discuss current challenges and future developments in the media industry. The summit serves as an important platform for regional cooperation and dialogue on issues related to broadcasting, digital transformation, and responsible journalism.
Several high-profile regional representatives are participating in the summit, including officials from the Maldivian government, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Bangladesh, the Secretary General of BIMSTEC, the Secretary General of SAARC, and the State Secretary for Social Communication of Timor-Leste. A number of media professionals and broadcasting leaders from various Asian countries are also attending the event.
During the fourth session of the summit, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa is expected to deliver a keynote address focusing on key issues affecting the modern media landscape.
