Man injured during NPP protest dies

A person who was injured during the National People's Power (NPP) protest march in Colombo, succumbed to his injuries today, JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva said today.

He told a news conference that an NPP candidate Nimal Amarasiri, who is contesting for Nivithigala Pradeshiya Sabha in Ratnapura District, had died while being treated at the Colombo National Hospital.

He said the government  attacked the peaceful protest march organised by the NPP and that the government should take responsibility for the loss of a precious life. (Ajith Siriwardana)
