Magnitude 6.3 earthquake hits northern Japan, no tsunami warning issued

May 15 (Reuters) - An earthquake ​with a ‌preliminary magnitude of 6.3 ​hit northern ​Japan on Friday, ⁠the Japan ​Meteorological Agency ​said.

The epicentre of the earthquake ​was off ​the coast of ‌Miyagi ⁠prefecture at the depth of 50 ​kilometres, ​the ⁠agency said, adding ​that ​no ⁠tsunami warning had been ⁠issued.
