MR, Wimal fly to Japan

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa left for Japan this morning on a special invitation from the Sri Lankan community there, Spokesperson for former president Rohan Weliwita said.

According to airport sources Mr. Rajapaksa had left at 12.30a.m with four others including National Freedom Front (NFF) Leader MP Wimal Weerawansa, his personal chief security officer and two others.

He is to address several meetings in Japan and will participate in several functions at several temples, Mr. Weliwita said. (Chaturanga Pradeep, T.K.G. Kapila)
