MP emotionally breaksdown in Parliament while talking of son’s arrest

Colombo, July 22 (Daily Mirror) - MP Jagath Withana emotionally broke down in Parliament today while talking of his son's arrest last Sunday. 

"My grandchildren are asking for their father. However, I cannot heed their request," he said breaking down emotionally. 

"My son was arrested for using a vehicle which is alleged to have been assembled illegally. The vehicle belongs to the company which I own. I hardly knew that the vehicle was illegally assembled. I don't know whether I had to face this situation because of the way I acted to secure a Pradeshiya Sabha in the district for the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB). These victimisations should not take place," he said.
