Knowledge acquired by children will remain as an asset: Minister

The knowledge that children acquire can not be wiped out due to any disaster or actions of any individual. Therefore, the Education Ministry is committed to the development of children's knowledge, Education Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said.

He said this while addressing a ceremony held at the Ministry to handover Rs. 21 million worth of computers and internet connections at the ceremony to expand educational facilities to the children who reside in all the child development centers in the country.

10,632 children at 379 Child Development Centers today received the computers and internet connections.  

"Implementing these types of programme, mechanisms is a very important process with the contribution of the business community to uplift the education of children at a time when education is looking for new avenues with a focus on information technology. It is a guide for children to embark on a new creative process," the Minister said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
