KNDU Bill will not be debated this week: Govt.

The Government would not take up the debate on the General Sir John Kotelawala National Defence University Bill this week, State Defense Minister Chamal Rajapaksa informed parliament today.

He told this in parliament responding to a question raised by UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, who asked whether the Bill would be taken up for debate this Friday.

The Minister said the Bill would not be debated as he deemed that the MPs and people needed more time to express their comments and opinions on the Bill.
 
He said the Bill would be debated on a future date.(Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
