The BCCI has taken a big U-turn on star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah. The Indian pacer who was included in the 3-match ODI series against SriLanka has been pulled out of the series.

This means that Bumrah will not be a part of the ODI series against Sri Lanka starting Tuesday. The Yorker specialist has had a history of injuries. Due to a back injury, the 29-year-old pacer has been out of action since September 2022.

According to sources, the BCCI selectors have decided not to rush him back into action so soon after his rehabilitation. Bumrah has not arrived in Guwahati with the national squad, indicating that he will not play in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

The pacer had also undergone rehabilitation and had been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Surprisingly, the pacer was included into the Indian team on the recommendation of the all-India selection committee.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included pacer Jasprit Bumrah in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming Mastercard 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka,” the BCCI had said on January 3.
