Jamie Siddons appointed Head Coach of Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket team

Colombo, March 5 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed former Australian cricketer Jamie Siddons as the Head Coach of the Sri Lanka National Women’s Team.

Siddons brings significant international coaching experience, having served as the head coach of the Bangladesh National Men’s Team from 2007 to 2011. A Level 3 qualified coach, he has also previously held the position of Head Coach of the South Australia Cricket Team (Redbacks) from 2015 to 2020 and the Wellington Firebirds in New Zealand from 2011 to 2015.

His one-year appointment will take effect from March 16, 2026.

Siddons, who had an extensive first-class cricket career in Australia and captained both South Australia and Victoria, will be responsible for preparing the Sri Lanka women’s team for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to be held in England in June.

His first assignment in the new role will be the Sri Lanka Women’s tour of Bangladesh, scheduled to take place from April to May 2026.
