Inmate, jailor injured in shootout at Welikada Prison

A prison inmate and a jailor of the Welikada Prison were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital with gun-shot injuries this evening, hospital sources said.

It was reported that the shooting has taken place when the inmate, who was remanded over a heroin case, tried to escape.
