Inland Revenue Dept. notches higher tax revenue

The Inland Revenue Department has earned a healthy 68.4% from the target they have given to achieve this year, Finance State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.

Accordingly, the target was achieved during the month of September. The minister said the department has set out a target of Rs.915 billion to be achieved by the end of this year.

It is significant to achieve these target in a situation where there is a negative economy of 8.2% in the country, the minister said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
