IPL 2026 Auction: 3 Sri Lankans among top INR 2 Crore picks

Dec.2, (Daily Mirror - Mirror Sports) - Matheesha Pathirana, Maheesh Theekshana, and Wanindu Hasaranga are among 46 players entering the 2026 IPL auction at the maximum base price of INR 2 crore. The long list of 1,355 registered cricketers was shared with franchises on Monday following the November 30 registration deadline.

Australia all-rounder Cameron Green is set to be the marquee draw, with Kolkata Knight Riders (INR 64.3 crore) and Chennai Super Kings (INR 43.4 crore) holding the biggest purses and overseas slots. The auction will be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16, with franchises required to submit shortlists by December 5.

High-profile names in the top bracket include England’s Liam Livingstone, New Zealand’s Devon Conway, and Sri Lanka’s Pathirana, released by CSK after an injury-hit 2025 season. Australian veteran Glenn Maxwell is a notable absentee, while wicketkeeper Josh Inglis returns after announcing limited availability for the 2026 season.
