Health officials allocated July 13 to cast postal votes

Health officials including Public Health Officers, Family Health Workers and employees at the offices of the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) had been allocated July 13 to cast their postal votes, the Elections Commission said.

Elections Commission Chairman Mahinda Deshapriya said employees of government offices except for divisional secretariat employees and security personnel can cast postal votes on July 14 and 15.

Employees of divisional secretariats and security personnel including police officers have been assigned July 16 and 17 to cast their postal votes.

“Since its health officials who would ensure that the poll process is being conducted in line with health guidelines, they were given the opportunity to cast their votes first,” he told a news briefing.
