Govt. will begin roll-out during the first week of May

The Government will begin the roll-out of doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines during the first week of May, a Minister said yesterday.

State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Prof. Channa Jayasumana told Daily Mirror the Health Ministry’s advisory panel on non-communicable diseases took this decision yesterday after an elaborate discussion.

The State Minister said this was a body comprising of all the stakeholders of the health sector, and chaired by the Director-General of Health Services. (Kelum Bandara)
