Governors instruct officials to reduce power consumption by 20% in all provinces

The Provincial Governors instructed the officials of the relevant government agencies to reduce the consumption of electricity in public places in all provinces by 20%.

It was announced following a special discussion held today through Zoom Technology over the consumption of electricity in public places in each province.

The discussion was held with the participation of the Governors representing all provinces in the country under the patronage of the Finance Minister.

During the discussion, the Northern Province Governor, Jeevan Thyagarajah, instructed the public officials of the province to expedite the use of renewable energy in all public institutions in the province in the future.

Further, they advised the officials to enhance the potential for renewable power generation in their province. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
