Government to stop foreigners on tourist visas doing business in Sri Lanka: PM

Parliament, January 08 (Daily Mirror)- The government will formulate a mechanism to stop foreigners who engage in business activities while on tourist visas, Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya said today.

The Prime Minister told Parliament that it is reported that foreigners on tourist visas engage in business activities and that the government has identified it as an issue.

"We are discussing the measures to be taken against that and are in the process of formulating a mechanism to stop such illegal activities," she said.

The Premier said this while responding to a question by SJB MP Mujibur Rahman on Israeli nationals engaging in business activities in Sri Lanka.
