Foreign travel for MPs restricted during Parliament days, budget

The Government has decided to impose restrictions on foreign travel for Ministers, State Ministers, and Government MPs on sitting days of Parliament and during the Budget debate.

The proposal presented to the Cabinet in this regard by the Prime Minister was approved today.

Accordingly, Ministers will not be able to travel abroad during sitting days of Parliament and the Budget debate.

However, the restrictions would not impact travel due to urgent medical needs or very urgent Government work. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
