Fire at Kalutara IRD Office under investigation

Colombo, May 02 (Daily Mirror) - Police have initiated an investigation into a fire that erupted at the Kalutara Regional Office of the Inland Revenue Department on Thursday (30) night.

Commissioner General Rukdevi Fernando said the incident did not result in any damage to tax data systems or cause disruptions to operations.

She added that efforts are underway to restore normal functions, including reconnecting systems through remote access.

Fernando further advised that those in need of urgent services from the Kalutara Regional Office may visit the nearest regional office or the department’s head office until regular services resume.
