Ex- army officer arrested

A former army officer was arrested by the Organized Crimes Unit of the STF along with 1,150 ammunitions.

Police said the 42-year-old suspect was arrested in Godagama area following a tip-off.

The STF recovered 810 ammunitions of .22, 330 bullets of 9MM and 9 bullets of T56 from the suspects' residence.

Investigation revealed that the suspect was an air riffle shooter in the Army. He had moved his residence from Anuradhapura to Godagama recently. (K. Buddhika Kumarasiri)
