Employee of South Asia Textiles Ltd tests positive for COVID-19

The South Asia Textiles Limited said one of its employees has tested positive for COVID-19.

It said in a statement that the Company complied with the directive received from the Office of the Medical Officer of Health, Pugoda had carried out PCR tests on personnel commencing on the 10th of October 2020.

“South Asia Textiles Limited complied and executed all the health and safety protocols in preparing the workplace for COVID 19 based on the directives of the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Sri Lanka and other government authorities to support the national efforts to mitigate the spread of it. As a further precautionary measure, South Asia Textiles Limited suspended operations on the 8th of October 2020,” it said.

“South Asia Textiles Limited is currently working in close coordination with the Government Healthcare Authorities and other relevant government agencies to facilitate the follow up action in this regard,” it said.
