Education Minister addresses schoolgirls’ hygiene issues

Colombo, January 23 (Daily Mirror) - Prime Minister and Education Minister, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, held a meeting to discussed the hygiene challenges faced by female students above Grade 6 in schools around the country.

The meeting aimed to identify practical solutions to improve access to hygiene products and ensure the well-being of female students, contributing to a healthier and more inclusive educational environment.

The discussion, held at the Ministry, brought together key stakeholders, including the Director and officials of the Health and Nutrition Branch of the Ministry of Education, the Deputy Director of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution and representatives from four major companies certified by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLS) for the production of sanitary napkins.
