Dr. Gita Gopinath meets President Dissanayake and CBSL Governor

Colombo, June 16 (Daily Mirror) - First Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Dr. Gita Gopinath met with President Anura Dissanayake and Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe in Colombo today for high-level discussions on the country’s economic reform efforts.

Dr. Gopinath first called on President Dissanayake, where both parties discussed Sri Lanka’s encouraging progress in implementing economic reforms. 
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she said it was a pleasure to meet the President and noted their discussion focused on Sri Lanka’s “strong performance on economic reforms” and the importance of sustaining this momentum. 

She stressed that continued commitment to these reforms is vital for lasting stability and prosperity for all Sri Lankans.

Following the meeting with the President, Dr. Gopinath held discussions with CBSL Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe. She described the meeting as “excellent” and highlighted the Central Bank’s crucial role in stabilizing the country’s economy and the steady progress being made under the IMF-supported reform program.
