Derailment delays upcountry train service: Control room

The train services on the country's main railway line have been disrupted due to a train derailment near the Watawala railway station this morning, the railway control room said.

They said the trains will run only up to Watawala and arrangements will be made to transfer the commuters using buses.

The derailed train still obstructs the movement of other trains, hence there will be a certain delay until it is cleared and restored, they said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
