Dhananjaya de Silva scored his 10th Test century, before Sri Lanka were bowled out for 312 on the second day of the first Test against Pakistan in Galle.
De Silva and Angelo Mathews had pulled Sri Lanka out of a precarious situation on Sunday, reduced to 54 for 4, with de Silva seeing out the opening day unbeaten on 94.
He saw out a tricky start to the day, as Pakistan's bowlers kept de Silva and Ramesh Mendis under wraps, their 15 run partnership spanning 68 deliveries, during the course of which de Silva reached his century with a single down to fine leg.
Mendis fell shortly after, but De Silva and Prabath Jayasuriya put on 25 runs for the eighth wicket, until Jayasuriya feathered a catch behind off Naseem Shah's bowling.
De Silva was dismissed off Shah's next over, caught at deep point for 122, adding another knock to his list of innings that have come when Sri Lanka were deep in trouble.
A final wicket partnership of 29 between Vishwa Fernando and Kasun Rajitha frustrated the visitors and took Sri Lanka past 300.
Rajitha was the last man out for 8 caught at short leg, becoming Abrar Ahmed's third wicket.
