Dan Priyasad dies after shooting

Colombo, April 23 (Daily Mirror) - Social activist Dan Priyasad, who had been receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Colombo National Hospital, died last night.

The 39-year-old was hospitalised last night after being shot in front of his residence at the ‘Laksanda Sevana’ apartment complex in Meetotamulla by two unidentified men who arrived on a motorbike, police said.

He was admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo with critical injuries.

Police investigations revealed that Dan Priyasad was shot with a pistol-type firearm.

The shooting was carried out by the assailants while the victim was attending a party.

The Wellampitiya Police are conducting investigations to arrest the suspects.
